S & P Meet Tiger

A couple of nifty finds at the antique mall this week: an original Dakin Dream Pet tiger, and a set of "native guide" salt and pepper shakers, probably produced sometime in the 1950's or 60's as well. Two different sellers, but two treasures combined (for a total of $5!) to make a neat little African scene on my bookshelf. I'm not sure how these shakers work, they clearly have the "S&P" holes on them, but how do you get the salt and pepper inside?
