The Witch Family

American children's author Eleanor Estes (1906-1988) is probably best known for her books Ginger Pye, The Hundred Dresses, and the wonderful Moffats series. In 1960, she created another classic called "The Witch Family", an enchanting tale of witches young and old, and life in a witch school (a highly recommended read for those that still think Harry Potter invented the entire "witch school" craze of young adult fiction.) Also most appealing, are the stunning illustrations throughout the book by Edward Ardizzone, capturing the mood and atmosphere of the tale with cackling fun and spooky perfection!
